While the birkenstock and granola crowd is not the best, the numerous families with kids and dogs are what get me upset. Particularly when I've hiked/climbed/waded nearly 2 miles of rock to reach some of the best water of the stream, only to watch 2 young children throw rocks into my pool.
little stoney is a beautiful little creek w/wild trout...but the granola and birkenstock crowd from nearby b'burg can ruin it for those lookin' for quiet fishing... on the upside the fishing can be good in the middle of the week early in the day gen pattern dry flies and tiny nymphs sz 18 and down rule the day. most trout are small ..but i have seen and caught brookies over 13" in this small stream
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a location with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first location has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second location, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
