Quick Trip To Whitman's
Took the crawdad out with the old man to Whitman's for a little late-in-the-day sunset trip. We started out going topwater at a big group of lily pads: no fish but one strike. We moved all around the part of the pond closer to the ramp with a lot of different baits, but no luck. We eventually moved to a little area with some shade from the sun and I threw on a Rapala Shadow Rap: a jerkbait that I've had some good success on. At this point, fish were jumping every couple minutes, so I expected something to happen. I got on the board with maybe the smallest larry of my entire life, then a decent crappie. We moved around a little off the shore, and I caught another crappie. We stayed there until it got dark and buggy, and then we headed back.
I would definitely recommend buying a Rapala Shadow Rap, by the way, it's an awesome lure.
