I have fished the South Anna near the bridge next to the Ashland Rolling Mill on Route 1. It's an alright fishin spot if you have a boat, canoe,or kayak.Make sure you go up river though because of the waterfall. As far as fishing off the bank goes, it's a pretty overpopulated fishing spot but who knows you could get lucky.
The South Anna River is a principal tributary of the Pamunkey River, about 85 mi (135 km) long, in central Virginia in the United States. Via the Pamunkey and York Rivers, it is part of the watershed of Chesapeake Bay.
