| The family is planning a trip to the Williamsburg area next July. Looking for some guidance on any spots to fish (if I can convince the wife to let me bring my fishing gear). Thanks. |

Goodness, what a beauty! Makes my heart race!
And the girl's not bad either.
I love Redfish! Can't get enough! When my wife and I moved to the Texas coast several years ago, our apartment was on a road to a major bait shop/boat ramp. Although not a fisherman, I was impressed by what I saw hauled out of Redfish Bay. I didn't have a boat, but I was told one wasn't needed: "Just walk out into the water with a pawn shop pole and have fun." So that's what I did. Actually it was a whispy $5 crappy pole with a little spinning reel that I'd bait up with a two-hook bottom rig. I'd wade far out and stick it in a pole holder, tightening the line so the tip bent way over. Then I'd go play unsuccessfully with artificial lures on a baitcaster. When a Red bit, lifting the weight, the crappy pole would snap and automatically set the hook. Then I'd have these memorable prolonged fights on that rinky dink rig.
Anyway, no, I know nothing yet about the Virginia coast. Well, I did see some likely Redfish habitat from a bridge in Norfolk. Couldn't get back in the reeds to check it out, though. |

| If you`re a bass fisherman visiting Williamsburg , you should not fish antwhere but Chickahominy river or lake . They are both hot in the morning and evening in July . |
