| I'me had alot of luck on top water in morning and super shad wraps in spring and fall, but most my luck comes off of big rubber muskie lures with long flashy tails, big spinners such as muskie killer works good in summer but first you have to find them then try diff things if they have just ate than you need to go small, ex if you see abunch of bait fish around than they have probley been eating and might not be able to eat big stuff like super chad wraps, throw rubber or small, or just something to just piss them off! Oh yeah have a big real, net, and steel leader, I lost over 15 this year with small stuff! |

I tried to catch them on a few trips to the New last year. I'm afraid that I only caught two and neither were big enough for state citation. Like you, I'll be back this year, probably as soon as I can get on the water.
Caught one casting a big spinner and the other trolling a big shad rap. |

| Go to the Whitethorne Boat Launch in Blacksburg and go upstream about 2 miles avoiding the rocks of course. Fish the opposite bank all the way down past the boat launch with large buzzbaits, bucktails, or Rapala jerk baits with 20lb test and a steel leader. Right now really isn't the best time to go, but you might get something. March-May and September-November is probably the hottest. You could also try putting in at the new boat launch down by the Dedmon Center in Radford and floating to the Peppers Ferry Bridge, using the same equipment. |
